Dear Jeanne,

The President of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), John Coates, has declared the 2009 Australian Youth Olympic Festival "our most successful yet".

From the 14 to 18 January, the AOC hosted 2,000 athletes and officials from 31 nations, competing in 17 sports. All participants were welcomed to the AYOF, Sydney and Australia through an exciting and unforgettable Opening Ceremony at the Sydney Entertainment Centre on Wednesday 14th January 2009.

At the Beijing Olympic Games we monitored the performances of athletes who had participated in previous editions of the AYOF. Seventy two AYOF athletes qualified for the Australian Olympic Team and between them won a total of 24 medals. Is is expected more AYOF athletes will move into the elite ranks and claim a place on the Australian Olympic Team for the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games in 2010 and the London Olympic Games in 2012.

On behalf of our President John Coates and the AOC, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude for the contribution Amadeus Catering made towards the success of the 2009 AYOF, with the provision of your goods and services.

We look forward to evolving the AYOF as we move to a 4 year cycle - staging the next edition in 2013.
